When we are already so busy, why buy into this?

The research is clear, student “net worth” (i.e. Parental Support, School Connectedness, Boundaries, High Expectations, Character, Values, and Attitudes) are “just as important as, or more important than any of the current school reform efforts occurring across America today.

The presence of student “net worth” is a better predictor of academic achievement than a student’s:

1) race/ethnicity

2) socio economic status,

3) gender, and/or

4) family composition.

Why now?

As Arizona slowly emerges from the largest economic downturn since the Great Depression, all of Arizona’s schools are working to give kids what they need to succeed, while balancing extraordinarily tight district budgets. Arizona schools are prioritizing the essential personnel, programs, and places that lead to student achievement. Helping Kids Succeed adds value to everything that a school does, has minimal financial costs, is something that everyone can buy into, and it generates hope.
